Mark Carter is a principal at tvsdesign where he provides firm wide leadership as a member of the Board of Directors and serves as Architect of Record.
As the leader of the tvsdesign global retail practice, Mark directs the design for all of tvsdesign’s retail projects. Passionate in the pursuit of design excellence and the creation of compelling experiential destinations, Mark is a hands-on designer and is involved in projects from concept design to built reality.
Mark’s 39-year architectural career has concentrated on the design of large retail and mixed-use centers and most recently sports facilities. His retail portfolio includes the 1 million square foot Plaza Los Dominicos and Plaza Egana in Santiago , the 3.5 million square foot Galaxy Mall in Tianjin China, the 2.1 million square foot Plaza and Court at King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, the 1 million square foot North Country Mall in Punjab India and Plaza Oeste , Plaza Norte, , Plaza Vespucio, and Plaza Tobalaba in Santiago, Chile.
Mark served as Principal in Charge and Architect of Record overseeing the sports group’s work for all Premium Spaces at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and for the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Grounds , home to Atlanta United.
Among his industry awards are the 2018 ALSD Spotlight Best Practice and Training Facility Award for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Grounds, ICSC International Design Latin America Gold and ICSC VIVA Award for Plaza Egana , ICSC International Design Award for Plaza Oeste, ICSC International Design Award for Plaza Norte, ICSC International Design Award of Merit for Triangle Town Center, ICSC International Design Award for Dadeland Mall, Miami, Florida and the ICSC International Design Award of Merit for the Expansion of the Florida Mall in Orlando.
Mark is an avid sports fan, and enjoys beach life, hacking up a golf course, biking and kayaking.
