JACKSON SPALDING

ABOUT THE PROJECT

At Jackson Spalding, the multi-dimensional communications agency located in Atlanta, Ga,  open spaces and a collaborative environment are vital to their brand. They needed a workplace that was purposefully designed for the cross-pollination of graphics, writing, and public relations. At the same time, they wanted to keep some elements of sophistication and warmth for their clients and prospects who often tour the offices to see a history of their work over the years. With a variety of elements to consider, they brought on tvs design to create their vision for their ultimate workplace capturing all their needs.

A WORKPLACE WHERE IDEAS CAN SPARK AND CATCH FIRE

DESIGN GOALS & STRATEGY

At Jackson Spalding, the open-commerce and flow of information are vital to the success of their work.  tvs designs team worked closely with JS to gain a full understanding of their creative process as well as learning the multiple components that the company needed in their workplace.

They needed a workplace that complemented the creative and collaborative nature of their brand.  With a young and vibrant office, JS envisioned a space that would better reflect their personality and brand as well as support and inspire their creative staff- a place where team members interact and engage in a laid-back setting and where ideas are sparked and catch fire.

Since storytelling is a key aspect to showcasing their work and clients often tour the office, they wanted to incorporate memorable exhibits of their work.

While keeping the environment vibrant and flexible, it was also important to maintain a level of sophistication and warmth for their current and prospective clients in the new design.

RESULTS

The redesigned office of Jackson Spalding is now the home base for a series of well-distributed open collaborative spaces, huddle rooms, semi-open desk areas, and room rooms for clients meetings. Collaborative spaces encourage creativity with stadium seating, bean bag chairs, and writable work surfaces. Extra conference rooms, a large kitchen, and multiple quiet rooms for reflection and relaxation were also added to encourage team members to move around the office and engage and collaborate with colleagues. For client tours, a partitioning of the space was purposefully created to exhibit and showcase years of exemplary creativity.  The central lobby features wood elements both refined and rustic giving the space an inviting and warm vibe. The refurbished staircase in the lobby activates the space and leads down to the cafe which can host company-wide events yet is intimate enough to be used as a work environment.  The result is a vibrant space rich with color and character that is true to the company’s brand, appeals to the youth of the firm and also the sophisticated clients they serve.
